Raining here all day, the kids are feeling antsy. It’s been nice to see them outside in the yard more than ever the past couple of weeks.
Nothing much else to do but takes walks in the woods around here which suits me fine.

Dear friends, during a bout of flu in early to mid January I found myself in a pub drinking Gin and Tonics, this is not something i would usually drink at all, bitter shandy is my preference, and seasonally perhaps some Port. During these very troubled times why should you be relaxing with a Gin and Tonic with a slice of Lemon?

We all know Alcohol kills germs, bacteria and Viruses.....
But.... add some citric acid and its potency can be increased 10 fold....
A slice of lemon in your drink will add citric acid but also some vitamin C.....
A popular London Gin contains licorice root, which contains Zinc.........
Indian Tonic water contains an active ingredient, quinine, for treating malaria and in modern times for its bitter taste.

Quinine, as a component of the bark of the cinchona (quina-quina) tree, was used to treat malaria from as early as the 1600s, when it was referred to as the "Jesuits' bark," "cardinal's bark," or "sacred bark." These names stem from its use in 1630 by Jesuit missionaries in South America, though a legend suggests earlier use by the native population.

Chloroquine is a quinine analogue medication used to prevent and to treat malaria in areas where malaria is known to be sensitive to its effects. Certain types of malaria, resistant strains, and complicated cases typically require different or additional medication. Chloroquine is touted as the CV-19 drug as it apparently helps the cells absorb Zinc that stops the reproduction of the Virus.
