Intricately Carved Mans Face

I started collecting years ago -I have poured over material and kind of taught myself- I live in Arizona. I don’t pretend to be an expert -that’s why I’m writing- I wanted to know if anyone knows of anyone in the Phoenix/ Cave Creek/Scottsdale/ Sedona area that would be interested in selling my stone tools and rock art ? Or just visiting with me to help me ?
—I recently found what I would say is one of my best pieces - I found it on private land just outside of Sedona Az - I thought I would include it in this email- It is clearly a mans face carved out of an agate material “in the round”. Do you all know what something like this would be worth ? I’m not sure I want to sell it because it is so amazing-the pictures don’t do it justice- it is very intricate

Well it is a figure stone thats for sure, I personally do not advocate selling these items until the academic world catches up with our ground breaking work.

Art is a very subjective thing, art that makes a complete mockery of American prehistory priceless........ I cannot give a price, its whatever someone wants to pay, it is a nice one, i rate the stone 7 out of 10...

Only a small portion of recognized artifacts have any real value, so I would assume when this stuff starts to be accepted only the 10/10 artifacts will be worth much.

I would give yours an 8.5 though, pretty cool piece.

I deleted it for you Amy, that's a nice selection, mostly easy to see as worked, probably highly differing ages among items judging by weathering or water wear.... those redy/orange items always feel older to me, i get most of mine like that from gravel deposits.

I think you're right about the turtle, the first stone does look like a figure stone, but Im not getting any exact face matches, it has what appears to be profiles all around it, I know random shapes can give false positives but I don't feel this is the case here. The last one looks very similar to an oldwan pebble chopper, although hobbit sized.....

Yes, I feel its either another piece of turtle shell or a carving, im not that experienced in bone carving or turtle shels to tell you either way...
