Fossil art Empty Fossil art

Tue Mar 08, 2022 4:33 am
Hey y’all! This piece is obviously a fossil but of what I can not find, in searching the net! So anyone know what this is? It looks like the underside of a mushroom to me! The bottom is what makes me reject a shell as the identity of this fossil! Or at least not like the shells I have found fossilized here! Thoughts, please.

Could very well be a fossil. I have similar things that i thought were rock art....just made out of a different material than rock...if that makes any sense.

Judy, i think this piece was constructed out of a mortar type material.....much similar to clay. Many of my finds seem to be a rock but with other things added to it

This is a fossil in first picture. That is why I think the other is also a fossil! The second picture is of the whole rock that fossil is in! I live on a place with fresh water springs that will just boil up. I will take some group photos of some stuff I find and post those. Definitely would like for y’all to tell me what u see in those, if u see anything!
Thanks Judy[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Lovely fossil, and yes some obvious figurative possibilities. Thanks Judy.
