Hello I found this in a field near my house,it reminds me of a skull,excuse my bad drawing over it
Is this a figure stone ?

Not enough to go on, It does have some similarities, the linear striations in the second image, the dark areas could be petrified pigment although you suggest otherwise, black pigment is seen often on my finds alongside ochre etching, the 'skull' image also looks like an elephant or pig snout.

Thank you for your reply ,when I said "drawn on" I meant I thought someone had drawn on it recently,you know how kids leave rocks around for people to find,I didn't consider that it could be "ancient" pigment,thank you

Your welcome, the simple ones can be found really easily if you have access to golden gravel, any place that is known for paleo flint tools is also a good spot to look for figure stones, they are relatively easy to find, the rarity comes with the more complex items showing many more accurate depictions that double as common looking blade tools.
