Eoliths      Empty Eoliths

Thu Feb 16, 2023 7:38 pm
I've Just put up a new post but very long on my blog about Eoliths. Here is a condensed TLWR version;

Flint artifacts including Eoliths are important for understanding the evolution of human behaviour and technology. Identifying evidence of cognition in flint finds is crucial in recognizing the role of early humans in shaping their environment. Evidence of cognition can be observed in the symmetry, parallel features, patina, flake removal, and repeating patterns in flint finds. These factors are all strong indicators of human agency and intelligence.

The presence of repeating shapes and designs in flint tool assemblages and figure stones is clear evidence of design and cognition. The intricate details and complexity of these designs suggest that the creators were skilled artists who were able to execute their designs with a high level of precision.
The probability of natural events producing consistent patterns in flint artifacts is low. The consistent patterns produced by deliberate flake removal scars, blade sharpening, and long flake removals are indicative of a systematic and controlled process. Dismissing certain flint finds as natural formations without any evidence is contrary to the principle of Occam's Razor.

In conclusion, the scientific community must acknowledge the significance of evidence of cognition in Eoliths and the importance of identifying flint artifacts as products of human agency and cognition. By recognizing evidence of cognition in flint finds, we can gain insights into the cognitive abilities of our prehistoric ancestors and better understand their relationship with their environment.
