That does sound like a deliberate piece of workmanship, With the ascending notes e,f,g,h, I have not searched my finds for such items, galloping horse sounds etc, Im not sure how I could prove it was a deliberate effect, although it showing a horse in motion while making such sounds would be quite an obvious clue....

In the first video, I was thinking how can they be certain? could it not be used for cracking nuts or opening shellfish? I think the lack of depressions would rule out those two, there are a lot of more practical solutions too... She talks about patina, and perhaps the popular tones changing over time, its more likely the stone just shifted, so they had to hit differing areas to get the desired tones???...

I have had these for a while and had no idea what they were used for. I also have another one packed away which is nearly identical to the 12" one but it's at least 18" long. They match those found in this video. Could be lithophones?

Without the video connection, (and who knows that could be completely wrong) i Would of said these had various possible uses from picks, to pry bars, and from adze to (well I think we could guess 2, and 4), and I would not class them all under one label... Only wear analysis would shed any light on the being possible lithophones....
