Ok y'all, I have this piece that is an artifact (pretty darn sure) I thought maybe axe of some sort. It's totally covered ,at all angles , with depictions . I'm amazed at the artist ability!! So I took pics at each different angle in order to share this find with you guys. Please do tell me what you think. Here are a bunch of the pics...all the same piece.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Excellent piece, it has a clever anamorphic almost full frontal human looking figure depiction, the stone just needs to be tilted forward more to show the top half of the figure.

Basically, from my understanding of them, they are stones with cups to hold the 'Nut' or shellfish steady while you crack it open with another stone. Without seeing lots for chips from glancing blows around the cup im not sure how they could be 100% positively identified. (I guess you could find traces of nut oil??)

I'm not sure. Although I was watching some videos on utube today one of which had a killsite Lindenmier it was. They were finding Folsom artifacts and one of the speakers in the video made a statement about sending a piece or 2 off to be tested. What got me tho was they weren't carbon dating these they. Were going to test for blood! Not sure why it surprised me so but it did. And of course the pieces were positive.
